Jack Kaple

Volunteer at LGBT Center Cleveland (They/Them)

Why did you decide to get involved with the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland?
I moved back to Northeast Ohio this Winter after graduating from Kenyon, and I was looking for opportunities to reconnect. I was also feeling pretty upset about all of the anti-trans and anti-queer legislation, and I needed to channel my energy towards doing something helpful. I was totally unfamiliar with the center at first, but I quickly realized what a welcoming place and group of people this is, and I’m really grateful to be able to contribute.

How long have you been a volunteer at the Center?
Two months!

What do you love most about being a volunteer at the Center?
I’ve loved getting to meet and talk to everyone who works and volunteers here, and everyone in the community. And I love how much more of that I’ll get to do in the future.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I have a grey tabby cat named Bug. She likes to play with tissue paper, laundry hampers, and her friend Pigeon (a sweet, small dog) . She is very good.
