The Rainbow Closet is an initiative to provide Transgender, Non-Binary, and Gender Nonconforming individuals a more comfortable and accessible way to access clothing that fits their stylistic needs. Clothes in the Rainbow Closet are completely free.
The Rainbow Closet strengthens community at the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland by fostering members of our communities' freedom to authentically express one's self through fashion. The Clothing Closet is available at no cost and is supported by donations.
Hours of Operation:
Clothing Drop-Off Day: 2nd Saturday of every month from 10:30am - 1pm.
Clothing Pick-Up Day: 4th Saturday of every month from 10:30am - 1pm.
Rainbow Closet will hold its first donation drop off March 7th from 10:30- 1:00.
We are looking for new or gently used PREWASHED items listed below:
1.Binders ***Very in need!
2.Professional Attire (for job interviews) ***Very in need! ( Smaller and Plus sizes alike!!)
3.Socks *More in need during the winter
4.Undergarments *Only brand new underwear
5.Hats and Gloves *Accepted only during the fall and winter
6.Coats *Heavier coats accepted only during the fall and winter
7.Shoes *Especially women’s professional shoes size 10+
You will be given a donation check in sheet that our volunteers will fill out with you. Due to limitations on storage space, the amount of items OVERALL that we can accept during one donor drive is 75 pieces, so we may not take every piece donated at that time.
