About the Winner
Dr. Taj Hussein has dedicated more than 15 years fighting for social justice through community-focused mental health work, with an emphasis on serving LGBTQ+ people, people of color, and other minority groups in Cleveland. Dr. Taj co-founded Kindred Harbor, an organization committed to providing inclusive mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse services. She’s played a vital role in LGBT Center Cleveland programs like Trans+ and regularly takes part in Pride in the CLE. Her advocacy and volunteer efforts continue to improve mental health across Cleveland.
