Support and Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE)
"As LGBT seniors, we are an integral part of the community. Celebrating our ethnic, racial and gender diversity, we gather to create a safe and nurturing environment. The senior program is social support group which was formed at The LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland in August of 2003."
The group serves members who are 50 years of age and older, and is open to the community. The sessions include chair-based, low impact exercises followed by lunch.
Monday & Wednesday Schedule
11:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Coffee and informal group discussion
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Arthritis Association Exercises
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: FREE lunch and dessert
1:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Card games (Bridge, Euchre, Canasta, Hearts)
Free chair-yoga from 11:45 AM - 1:00 PM.
Additionally we travel to various places within the Greater Cleveland area. These excursions are a way for LGBT seniors to attend events while experiencing a sense of community.

LGBT Older Adults Health and Wellness Report Released

In 2013, a SAGE Cleveland steering committee conducted a survey on LGBT health and wellness in Northest Ohio. The result was a total of 1,025 responses from LGBT participants who were aged 18 and older.
“Northeast Ohio LGBT Older Adults Health and Wellness Report” is the first known survey in Northeast Ohio to ask participants about their health and health care, financial security, and community support."
