SouthWest Universalist Unitarian Church (SWUU) is an LGBT-friendly church in North Royalton, Ohio. SWUU strives to support LGBTQ people in the community and in their church by including the LGBTQ community in all levels of congregational life, including worship, programs, and social events.
They demonstrate their commitment to inclusion by marching in the Cleveland Pride Inc celebration and through participation in the Pride in the CLE march and festival. Once a month, SWUU is the host of PFLAG Cleveland's Southwest meeting, offering education and support for LGBTQ people and their families.
SWUU is a church that is actively engaged in their community: "Each month we live our values at Urban Hope, located in a storefront in the near west side of Cleveland. We provide food, and a loving safe space for members of this neighborhood to gather in community."
The Social Justice Committee also determines a local organization whose work the church would like to support each month. This year, the Center was chosen as one of the organizations chosen to receive support through a monthly focus collection.
Worship services at SouthWest Unitarian Universalist Church-led by Reverend Kristen Rohm-are held each Sunday at 10:30 AM. More information about SWUU, its programs, and its work in the community can be found on their website.
